Vampyres have been around as long as Lycanthropes have been, and in some aspects, are superior to them. While werewolves have more physical strength, vampires have more of a "mental" strength - they are very intelligent.
Their government system seems a bit complex to others, but it is very efficient nonetheless. They are ruled by the "Bella", much like all werewolves are ruled by the Marrok. She is the ruler of all vampyres, and her word is law. She has three consorts who act like her soldiers and secretaries -depending upon the situation- to carry out certain tasks. Usually her consorts are among the first vampires she turned, and the ones she has the strongest blood-relationship with. She also has her council of elder vampyres who aid her in the making of critical decisions -each member hand-picked.
In each covenant (which are scattered throughout the world), they have a leader whom we call "Caesars", kind of like pack Alpha(s).
Below them are their menageries, made up of vampyres whom the Caesars each turned. The Caesars, instead of feeding off of humans, feed off of these vampyres.
Each of these vampyres have their own menagerie, made up of humans they find as well as some young vampyres, and these are whom they feed off of.
The Bella either feeds off of her consort, or the council. Vampyres do not hurt each other when they feed, it is painless and to some almost sensual. They only need to drink a small amount of blood each week to keep them healthy.
The Bella is greatly loved by all of the vampyres, and the greatest insult one could pay to her would be to deny her love for any of them. She refuses to call them her subjects, but refers to them only as her family. She also insists upon them calling her by her first name and not using titles.
Most vampyres are tall, lean and somewhat feline. They are silent and agile, and in many ways like a cat, as werewolves are to dogs. Their agility and silent movement amount to a beautiful grace, and they are regarded by humans (and very reluctant werewolves) as beautiful. They are usually very pale, as they cannot go out in direct sunlight; UV light burns them like acid.
Vampyres have something distinctly sensual about the way they hold themselves, and the way they interact. All movements are fluid, all touches resemble caresses, all words spoken are soft murmurs. Greetings among vampyres are always warm embraces, if not passionate kisses, even if the greeters are of the same sex. Feeding also tends to be a very intimate interaction, making it most pleasurable, even with the humans-not-yet-turned.
When vampyres grow hungry, their eyes turn from green to red, and their skin becomes even sallower. They begin to resemble drug-addicts.
The vampyres of this covenant live together in three large Victorian-type mansions on the East side of the city. These mansions are self-sufficient (solar panels on roof and such) and they are very high-tech. They have cameras on almost every inch of the premises, and they have very tight, high-tech security. The yards are large and luxurious. They have beautiful gardens, stone walkways, and neatly trimmed grass.
As vampyres are of the "un-dead" they cannot reproduce by means of having children. Instead, they turn humans by feeding off of their blood. The actual process is somewhat confusing, as there must be a transfer of blood between both party members over an extended period of time for the human to be successfully turned. The longer the vampyre has feed off of the particular human, and not killed them, the more the human becomes vampyre-like.
As a vampyre ages, they grow stronger physically as well as intellectually. If they are old enough, they can learn how to mist. It is very hard to do so, as it is done using sheer willpower. The older and more intelligent the vampyre, the longer they can mist for.
Vampyres do need rest also, because if they didn't they would eventually go insane. Younger vampires need to "sleep" or hibernate every couple of days, while older vampires can go for weeks at a time if they need to. Some very old vampyres enjoy several hours of intensive meditation a day to put their minds in a more comfortable state and require no other form of rest.
Vampyres are allergic to UV rays, and while young vampyres, or newly turned ones would be killed if they are exposed to it in any form, older, or Elder Vampyres can go out during the day, but they must also stay out of direct sunlight. If they go outside, they would have to take extreme precautions to ensure they would not burn.
